I’m Andrew O’Hare, a Principal Engineer based in Melbourne. I work across regulated digital health, enterprise SaaS, and anywhere the technical decisions carry real weight. I’ve been doing this long enough to have opinions worth writing down.

What I plan to write about here:

• Building software in regulated environments (SaMD, IEC 62304, ISO 14971) — what the standards actually mean in practice versus what they say on paper
• Agentic coding workflows — I’m currently building two projects entirely AI-first and making everything public, including the AI memory files: github.com/N3rdage
• Engineering leadership without the politics — the principal engineer and mentorship track, and why I keep choosing it
